14 years ago, I embarked upon a journey that would lead to countless facets of wellness. Massage is a modality that has existed from the beginning of time. It is one of the five pillars of health! It’s benefits are endless, ranging from lowered cortisol and blood pressure to restful sleep and reduced anxiety. It isn’t a luxury, rather a necessity to achieve longevity and vitality.

THE STORY OF THE STARFISH

MAKING A DIFFERENCE

From the first time I was told the story of the starfish, I loved it. When my career began I knew its meaning fit my mission. I may not be able to help everyone, but if I can help just one person, I’ve contributed. That is my hope—through modalities, skill and the proper ingredients in products. I pray you can find exactly what you’re hoping and looking for at Rejuvenation.

A young girl was walking along a beach upon which thousands of starfish had been washed up during a terrible storm. When she came to each starfish, she would pick it up, and throw it back into the ocean. People watched her with amusement.

She had been doing this for some time when a man approached her and said, “Little girl, why are you doing this? Look at this beach! You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!”

The girl seemed crushed, suddenly deflated. But after a few moments, she bent down, picked up another starfish, and hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied, “Well, I made a difference to that one!”

ABOUT ANGELA HARRIS

For as long as I can remember nature has always fascinated me. Being raised on a farm in rural Missouri isn’t exactly scintillating. It is, however, very real. There are many daily life-lessons, it’s heartwarming, nurturing, it teaches you to love with all your heart, give your best and quite honestly I can’t imagine any other life. My mom taught me at a very young age, to most problems there are more than one answer, if you love things well, water and feed it—it grows and, most importantly, never forget who you are, how far you have come, who has gotten you there, and the value of making a difference even if it’s only to one.

Massage found me-plain and simple. I took an online class while in college and working in a factory-loved it and my story began. Health, wellness, herbal studies, it all fascinated me and like a sponge, I couldn’t get enough. In April of 2005, I embarked on a journey that would become my life path. Therapeutic Massage had chosen me, and Fort Collins, CO. became home for a short while. For this Granby girl, it was love, at first sight, casting my eyes upon that amazing mountainscape as I landed in Denver CO. I’d never seen anything so grand. Massage School was like oxygen, my mind, heart, everything felt natural. Like pieces of a puzzle, life seemed to work itself out.

Upon returning home I started working in a chiropractor’s office, taking in as many clients as I could. There were bumps, set-backs, and it was scary being out there on my own. God always has you—always. I’d always worked under an umbrella of a company—now it was faith. I just kept moving forward, praying, and leaning on my mother!

Like those days on the farm, I noticed that with attention and the right combination of time and effort, little by little my knowledge grew and even more I was making a difference in the lives of others. Now, nearly 15 years later, I can’t say enough about how much I LOVE what I do. Deep Tissue, Reflexology, ashiatsu massage, herbal studies, honey bees, aromatherapy, the list goes on; I truly believe a person could never learn all there is to know about the human body simply because we are all so different and all require something unique with each massage.

My story is far from finished. Every day I learn and hope to give back as much as I take from this life. I will NEVER retire. My family is my cornerstone, my heart. My mom still, my sounding board. I have a daughter now and hope she learns the art of caring and brotherly love by example, in what she sees daily. I strive to give my people what they need and pray people will continue to seek Natural healing as a mean of living well and having the happiest possible lives.
